Integrating Spirituality in Counselling: A Bibliometric Analysis and CIMO Framework Perspective

There has been an increase in the life expectancy of people worldwide, especially in developing countries like India. Osteoarthritis, a condition that usually onsets during later decades of life, has also been on the rise, even with advancing technology. This has led osteoarthritis of the knee to become a global disabling condition of the lower extremity that increases dependency on the affected individual. A bibliometric study has not been conducted on knee osteoarthritisresearch. Therefore, a bibliometric analysis which includes statistical analysis of recent articles, books, and other forms of publications is done for evaluation of scientific output and to find the importance of scientific studies in terms of quality as well as quantity.The aim of this analysis was to evaluate the productivity of research articles indexed in PubMed related to the condition. The PubMed database was used and articles related to osteoarthritis of the knee, phonophoresis, and start excursion balance test were extracted. In the bib text format, all the files were downloaded and placed together. The R studio software (R Foundation for Statistical Computing, Vienna, Austria) for bibliometric analysis was then used, into which the research data was uploaded and a data framework of bibliometric analysis was made. Analysis of bibliometric publications related to knee osteoarthritis, phonophoresis, Otago exercises, star excursion balance test, ultrasound, and exercise therapy generated between 1989 and 2021 lists a total of 120 relevant documents from 75 sources with an average of 4.53 articles per year of publication. The use of an advanced PubMed database enables the extraction of adequate articles and powerful bibliometric analysis of the studies conducted on osteoarthritis of the knee published from 1989 to 2021. It includes an assessment of the contributions from major countries. This study allowed us to validate our methodology which can be used to evaluate research policies and promote international collaboration.

The development of religious character among children with intellectual disabilities remains a neglected field in inclusive education, despite its critical role in fostering moral awareness and social adaptation. This study aims to evaluate methods for internalizing religious character values through spiritual counseling services at Extraordinary School of Pembina Yogyakarta, while mapping global research trends in this domain. Using a convergent parallel mixed-methods design, qualitative data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, complemented by a bibliometric analysis of 247 Scopus-indexed publications (2014–2024) using VOSviewer. The results reveal four effective strategies: spiritual individual counseling, group guidance via visual and audio media, ritual habituation, and counselor–parent collaboration. Bibliometric findings identified five major clusters: character education, inclusive learning, disability counseling, religious values, and adaptive pedagogy. This study enriches Lickona’s and Bandura’s frameworks by contextualizing religious character education for children with intellectual disabilities and underscores the need for standardized counseling modules and continuous counselor training. PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to analyse the policy instruments used by the China's Government on prefabricated construction (PC) development, with the aim to clarify the pattern and discover the focus of the policy instruments using the methods of bibliometric analysis and content analysis.Design/methodology/approachThrough a thorough screening by all researchers, 25 policies were identified from 1995 to 2021 were selected and analysed. The external attribute analysis clarified the issuing year, organisation, and the format of each policy. The content analysis was adopted firstly to analyse the policy instrument. An analysis framework including environmental instruments, supply instruments and demand instruments was applied in categorising and counting of each policy instrument. The bibliometric analysis was then carried out to extract keywords of the policy instruments, construct a co-word network and complete the cluster analysis.FindingsThe results indicate that the policies lack consistency and had relatively low authority. The results of content analysis show that the policy system relies heavily on environmental and supply instruments, whilst the use of demand instruments seems to be grossly inadequate. The results of the bibliometric analysis identify the core ideas of each policy instrument category, discuss the existing problems and then put forward the corresponding countermeasures.Research limitations/implicationsThis study comprehensively and systematically analysed the policy instruments on facilitating the development of PC in China which broaden the research perspectives of the PC development by introducing the methods of political science. The research findings afford helpful information for future policy adjustments and elucidate the effective delivery of policies to facilitate PC development for developing countries.Originality/valueThis study provides an in-depth understanding of policy instruments used by China's Government on PC development. By integrating the policy instrument analysis framework into the mixed methods of content analysis and bibliometric analysis, this study provides an innovative way to conduct policy instrument analysis.

The concept of bibliometric analysis, in addition to seeing the developments in any scientific field over a certain period of time, also provides information about where the scientific field in question will evolve in the future by offering a different perspective to understand the evolution of the field related to the concept. Bibliometric analysis method, which is used as an element or content in socio-economic fields such as communication, public relations, advertising, marketing, health, business, economy, finance and banking, technology, education, politics, etc., is the subject of many academic researches and numerous studies in the literature. The concept of bibliometric analysis is intricate and complex, and performing a bibliometric analysis of bibliometric analysis research will be able to provide a panoramic perspective to researchers and organizations in different disciplines. The research aims to evaluate the status of the concept of bibliometric analysis in the international literature within the framework of descriptive analysis with the document review method. For this purpose, after searching the Web of Science database and the necessary limitation procedures, a total of 18.432 published scientific studies published between 1980 and 2023 that include the concept of bibliometric analysis in all research, titles or keywords or have bibliometric analysis content were accessed. A total of 18.432 scientific studies accessed constitute the sample of the study. A total of 18.432 scientific studies with bibliometric analysis content were analyzed with the VOS viewer program to determine the scientific categories and interest orientation in which the interest in bibliometric analysis is concentrated, and the prominent country, organization, author and keyword concept units were reached with the publication-citation mapping technique. As a result of the research, besides the fact that the studies on bibliometric analysis are generally co-authored and that there is a high level of collaborative index in the fields of study, no common concept association related to bibliometric analysis or any common word concept or keyword association related to the expression bibliometric analysis was found.

Sustainability transformations in global financial services aimed at addressing sustainability-related risks have been long overdue and are critical for the future development of financial services. The call for sustainability transformations in financial services arose out of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goal agenda. The financial services sector plays an important role in providing sustainable financial services to nudge sustainability practices among firms and consumers around the world. However, efforts for sustainability transformations among financial service providers are still slow, and little research has been documented in this area. So far, no bibliometric analysis has been conducted in this area as well. Therefore, this research undertakes a comprehensive snooping review of extant sustainable financial services research in order to establish a trend of existing financial services sustainability activities to enhance future research possibilities. Our comprehensive review of the Scopus database was guided by the PRISMA protocols, including PRISMA-P and SPAR-4-SLR. Bibliometric and content analysis approaches were also employed as analytical tools within an analytical framework. This study has also employed Microsoft Excel and the VOSviewer tool in conducting performance and science mapping analyses. After article filtering for “sustainability” was conducted, a total of 103 research documents published between 1991 and 2022 were identified as usable samples, which were critically reviewed and analyzed in this study by means of content analysis. Three major themes were investigated, including—sustainable financial products, sustainable financial services delivery, and sustainable financial services marketing strategies. Our findings show a recent growth in academic publications in the area, but also indicate relatively low financial sustainability activities around the world. This research therefore aims to provide present and future innovative insights on sustainable financial services aimed at stimulating more financial institutions, financial service managers, policy makers, and academic researchers to take more action toward greater sustainability development activities in the financial services sector.

PurposeConsidering both the current opportunities of the Internet of things (IoT) and aviation, as well as the potential opportunities they may offer for the future, it is understood that they are among the important issues that need to be examined in the literature. This study aims to provide an idea by conducting bibliometric and visualization analyses of the current trends and development opportunities of IoT and aviation.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, descriptive and bibliometric analyses within the framework of co-author, co-citation, bibliographic coupling, and keyword co-occurrence analysis were carried out for publications found to be published between 2007 and 2023 in the Web of Science (WoS) database related to IoT and aviation. VOSviewer (ver. 1.6.18) program and the Biblioshiny application were used to create bibliometric networks and provide visualization.FindingsAs a result of some descriptive and visualization analyses, the current trend of publications on IoT and aviation and future publication opportunities has been revealed. It has been understood that the subject of IoT and aviation is one of the subjects whose number of publications has increased in recent years and has not yet fully matured in terms of the number of publications and has the potential to make new publications.Originality/valueIn this study, bibliometric analysis of IoT and aviation, which could not be found examined before in the literature, and the creation of existing bibliometric networks by visualizing were carried out.

This study performs a bibliometric mapping analysis of the competency framework in higher education research utilizing the Scopus database using the Search, Appraisal, Synthesis, and Analysis (SALSA) technique. Our study comprehensively outlines the competency framework research from 2000 to 2023. We analyze and synthesize previous works to uncover topic areas, highlight prospective research subjects, and identify common trends and patterns. We collected all journal and conference publications from 2000 to 2023, from which 366 papers were examined further using the VOSviewer software to determine the co-authorship coupling between documents and discover the most frequently used keywords. This study finds that the competency framework is still being researched worldwide and shows an increasing trend, significantly from 2019 and culminating in 2021 and 2023. Competency framework research is primarily explored in Social Science, Medicine, Nursing, Computer Science, Business, Management, and Accounting. It is performed in 63 countries, mainly in developed countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. This paper also finds the main contributors to competency framework studies. We discovered that studies on competency framework are grouped into six clusters of keyword co-occurrences, and the highest linked keywords are "human," "humans," "article," "curriculum," "education," "medical education," and "clinical competence." We also provide further analysis and find the newest related keywords that can be used as a basis for future studies.

Mediterranean Cultural Heritage (MCH) has become increasingly prominent within European cultural policy and identity-building strategies. This article explores how MCH has been addressed in European initiatives and academic research, combining qualitative analysis of institutional and policy frameworks with bibliometric network analysis. The study focuses on three main areas: the role of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) in heritage-related actions; the presence of MCH in two key European initiatives - the European Heritage Label and the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe; and the identification of trends in European academic production since the launch of the Barcelona Process in 1995. Findings show that MCH has been mobilised as a tool for cultural diplomacy, regional cooperation, and the promotion of shared values, although its representation often remains implicit and fragmented. While initiatives such as the Day of the Mediterranean and the Mediterranean Capitals of Culture and Dialogue highlight growing recognition of Mediterranean diversity, challenges persist concerning Eurocentrism, limited inclusivity, and instrumentalisation of heritage. Bibliometric analysis also reveals a strong focus on themes such as sustainability, climate change, and intangible heritage, with the Mediterranean Diet emerging as a particularly influential topic. The article concludes that MCH is increasingly used to support European identity narratives and regional engagement, yet calls for more integrated and participatory approaches that reflect the complexity of the Mediterranean space and its diverse cultural legacies.

PurposeThis paper conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of Machine Learning (ML) in Supply Chain Management through bibliometric and network analysis, the authors are able to grasp key features of the contemporary literature. The study makes use of state-of-the-art analytical framework based on a unified approach to reveal insights from the present body of knowledge and the potentials for future research developments.Design/methodology/approachUnlike standard literature reviews, in SLR, a structured approach is followed. The approach enables utilizing contemporary tools and software packages such as R-package “bibliometrix” and Gephi for exploratory and visual analytics. A number of clustering methods are employed to form clusters. Later, multivariate analysis methodologies are adopted to determine the dominant clusters for the influential co-cited references.FindingsUsing contemporary tools from Bibliometric Analysis (BA), the authors identify in an exploratory analysis, the influential authors, sources, regions, affiliations and papers. In addition, the use of network analysis tools reveals research clusters, topological analysis, key research topics, interrelation and authors’ collaboration along with their patterns. Finally, the optimum number of clusters computed for cluster analysis is decided using a systematic procedure based on multivariate analysis such as k-means and factor analysis.Originality/valueModern-day supply chains increasingly depend on developing superior insights from large amounts of data available from diverse sources in unstructured and semi-structured formats. In order to maintain a competitive edge, the supply chains need to perform speedy analysis of big data using efficient tools that provide real-time decision-making insights. Such an analysis necessitates automated processing using intelligent ML algorithms. Through a BA followed by a detailed data visualization in a network analysis enabled grasping key features of the contemporary literature. The analysis is based on 155 documents from the period 2008 to 2018 selected using a systematic selection procedure.

PurposeFood supply chain resilience is a critical aspect in ensuring the continuous and reliable flow of food, particularly in the face of disruptions. This study aims to address specific gaps in the existing literature by conducting a bibliometric analysis. The primary objective is to identify key areas of concern and lacunae related to disruptions and resilience within the food supply chain. The study also strives to contribute to the field by developing a comprehensive framework that evaluates the factors influencing resilience. Furthermore, the research intends to propose effective strategies for mitigating and recovering from disruptions, emphasizing the urgency of these measures in light of identified gaps in the current body of literature.Design/methodology/approachTo achieve these objectives, the authors extracted the most relevant papers from Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases. The analysis parameters included a comprehensive review of current food supply chain practices and an exploration of trending research topics, such as sustainability, adaptability, circular economy and agility. Notably, the study recognized the pervasive impact of COVID-19 on food supply chain disruptions, with a high occurrence in the literature. Using advanced analytics tools like VOSviewer and Biblioshiny, the research delved into the role of modern technologies, including Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and blockchain in addressing disruptions and enhancing resilience.FindingsThe research reveals a significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on food supply chain disruptions, underscoring the critical need for strategies to bolster resilience. Notably, the study identifies the pivotal role of modern technologies (Industry 4.0, IoT, AI, ML and blockchain) in mitigating disruptions and enhancing resilience in the food supply chain. The bibliometric analysis conducted through VOSviewer and Biblioshiny provides valuable insights into research trends and focal areas within the literature.Practical implicationsThe observed importance of Industry 4.0, IoT, AI, ML and blockchain implies a practical need for integrating these technologies into food supply chain operations. Moreover, the paper discusses strategies for reducing the impact caused by disruptions, providing practical guidance for resilience planning in food supply chains. Researchers can leverage the findings to direct future efforts toward areas with identified gaps and opportunities, fostering advancements in the field and offering practical insights for real-world applications.Originality/valueBy amalgamating insights from bibliometric analysis and the developed framework, this study contributes to a holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities in fortifying the resilience of the food supply chain. The identified factors and strategies offer valuable insights for researchers and practitioners seeking to address disruptions in food supply chains. The study’s unique contribution lies in bridging theoretical perspectives with practical applications, enhancing the relevance of business-to-business/industrial supply chain theories.

Purpose Collective action through public participation is essential for the success of smart cities. Therefore, this study presents two research objectives. First, the study aims to map the academic landscape of public participation in smart cities using bibliometric analysis. Second, to deepen understanding of its complexities, the study combines bibliometric analysis with social-ecological system (SES) framework to develop a conceptual SES framework for public participation in smart cities. Design/methodology/approach In this study, relevant literature was searched in the Scopus database using keywords related to smart cities and public participation. A total of 1,201 documents published before 2025, were retrieved for bibliometric analysis. Through co-citation and co-word analyses, the study identified influential publications, research themes, trends, and potential research focuses in the field of public participation in smart cities. Findings Through co-citation and co-word analyses, four co-citation clusters and six co-word clusters were identified, highlighting influential publications, research themes, trends, and potential research focuses. Moreover, this study develops a conceptual SES framework for public participation in smart cities, highlighting eleven institutional factors, sixteen social factors, and five ecological factors that influence public participation, along with their roles and impact mechanisms. Originality/value The development of the conceptual SES framework introduces a social-ecological perspective into the field of public participation in smart cities, presenting a new theoretical viewpoint. Additionally, the study’s findings can guide the formulation of inclusive smart city policies and provide valuable insights for designing future smart city-related research.

PurposeWhile the number of global alliance terminations in the business world has grown steadily during the past few decades, the scholarly literature on strategic alliance (SA) termination remains limited. This research paper aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of the literature on alliance termination and propose a model for future research agenda that links the termination phase to the pre-alliance termination phase and post alliance termination phase.Design/methodology/approachA search query on global alliance termination identified a total of 69 research papers from the Scopus database, and a bibliometric analysis was performed using the bibliometrix R-package and VOSviewer. The analysis further used the TCCM framework to review the set of papers.FindingsThis research analysis reveals that, compared to the pre-formation, formation, and process stages of alliances, limited research has been undertaken on global alliance termination. The bibliometric analysis and TCCM framework provide a complete view of the extant literature on global alliance termination from different dimensions and act as the which as the foundation for a developing the research agenda that links pre-alliance termination phase and post-alliance termination phase to that of alliance termination phase.Research limitations/implicationsThe proposed research agenda is unique as it integrates multiple phases in the alliance lifecycle with global alliance termination phase and develops a distinct view for future research that emphasizes on the post-alliance termination phase.Practical implicationsThe bibliometric analysis provides a precise snapshot of the state of the literature on global alliance termination. The research agenda developed provides a direction for further academic research that links alliance termination not only to pre-alliance termination phase but also to the post-alliance termination phase that is nascently explored in the literature.Originality/valueThis study is among the few to review and synthesize the literature on global alliance termination. It, therefore, functions as a catalyst to draw global scholars' attention. Further, it provides global researchers with direction by proposing a global research agenda.

PurposeArtificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly applied by businesses to optimize their processes and decision-making, develop effective and efficient strategies, and positively influence customer behaviors. Businesses use AI to generate behaviors such as customer retention (CR). The existing literature on “AI and CR” is vastly scattered. The paper aims to review the present research on AI in CR systematically and suggest future research directions to further develop the field.Design/methodology/approachThe Scopus database is used to collect the data for systematic review and bibliometric analysis using the VOSviewer tool. The paper performs the following analysis: (1) year-wise publications and citations, (2) co-authorship analysis of authors, countries, and affiliations, (3) citation analysis of articles and journals, (4) co-occurrence visualization of binding terms, and (5) bibliographic coupling of articles.FindingsFive research themes are identified, namely, (1) AI and customer churn prediction in CR, (2) AI and customer service experience in CR, (3) AI and customer sentiment analysis in CR, (4) AI and customer (big data) analytics in CR, and (5) AI privacy and ethical concerns in CR. Based on the research themes, fifteen future research objectives and a future research framework are suggested.Research limitations/implicationsThe paper has important implications for researchers and managers as it reveals vital insights into the latest trends and paths in AI-CR research and practices. It focuses on privacy and ethical issues of AI; hence, it will help the government develop policies for sustainable AI adoption for CR.Originality/valueTo the author's best knowledge, this paper is the first attempt to comprehensively review the existing research on “AI and CR” using bibliometric analysis.

Purpose This study aims to systematically examine the relationship between sustainable finance investment and organisational performance through a bibliometric review and theories, characteristics, context and methodologies (TCCM) analysis. It seeks to explore key theoretical frameworks, publication trends and emerging themes in the literature on sustainable finance and organisational performance. Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted following the SPAR-4 SLR protocol. A bibliometric analysis was performed on 159 articles published between 2003 and 2023, using data from the Scopus database. The study employed performance analysis, science mapping and the TCCM framework to identify key trends, theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches. Findings The study finds that sustainable finance positively influences organisational performance, with frequent use of theories like stakeholder theory, RBV, institutional theory and agency theory. Bibliometric analysis reveals top journals, authors, institutions and countries. Research is grouped into four themes: sustainability-performance link, ESG, CSR with mediators/moderators and SRI. It also highlights underdeveloped theories such as upper echelons theory, responsible leadership theory, signalling theory and configuration theory. Key gaps include limited theory integration, methodology diversity and geographic scope, for longitudinal and cross-country studies and inclusion of non-financial metrics. Originality/value This study is among the first to systematically review sustainable finance and its impact on organisational performance using the TCCM framework. By integrating bibliometric analysis and a structured review, it provides a comprehensive roadmap for future research. This study presents an integrated TCCM and Paradox Theory framework that addresses research gaps, enhances understanding of the sustainable finance and performance relationship and provides direction for future research.
