Integrating Madrasah Diniyah into Secondary Schools: A Case Study of Local Religious Curriculum in Indonesia
This study aims to analyze the historical implementation of local content curriculum on religion and Diniyah education in secondary schools in Jombang and its impact on the quality of Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, data were collected through document analysis, observation, and in-depth interviews with teachers, school principals, and community leaders. The findings show that Islamic education in Jombang has developed dynamically in response to socio-cultural changes. Integrating Diniyah Education into the school curriculum represents an adaptation to diverse local needs and the complexity of religious practices in the region. This implementation has positively impacted students' religious character, enhancing worship competencies and deepening religious understanding. The study concludes that adapting the Diniyah madrasah curriculum to local cultural contexts is an effective strategy to improve the quality of Islamic education, especially in socially and religiously plural communities. It highlights the importance of local potential in formulating responsive and contextual Islamic education policies.

Human nature is a social creature which according to Aristotle is called the "Zoon Politicon". In an effort to socialize, humans or humans enter a group or organization, then when something emerges, recognizes the advantages and influences and drives joint efforts in achieving a predetermined goal, then he is called a leader. This research uses an organization that is a school educational institution. Educational leaders must have a commitment to quality improvement in their main functions. Therefore, the functions of educational leadership must be directed at the quality or quality of learning. The quality of education is a direct consequence of a change and development of various aspects of life. There are various styles of heads in implementing and developing leadership activities, namely authoritarian leadership style, Laissez Faire leadership style, democratic leadership style. On that basis, this research is focused on the limitations of the problem in this study, there are two, namely: 1) How is the Quality of Islamic Religious Education at SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey?; and 2) How is the principal's leadership style in improving the quality of Islamic religious education in educational institutions. Furthermore, this study uses qualitative research methods using a case study plan on the leadership style of school principals in improving the quality of Islamic religious education. The results of this study indicate that (1) the quality of Islamic education in SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey can be said to be quite good, this can be seen in terms of input, process and output. In terms of input, the students of SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey have the motivation to always improve themselves in achieving according to their talents and abilities, teachers, staff, TU, counselors and administrators who have expertise in their fields and are also supported by adequate facilities and infrastructure. In terms of process, Islamic religion teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey have used various teaching methods so that it is easy for students to understand PAI material. In terms of output, most of the graduate students are accepted in top universities, are diligent in praying and can read the Qur'an. (2) The Leadership Style of the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey in improving the quality of Islamic religious education is more likely to use a (participatory) leadership style. In this case, the principal prioritizes deliberation and consensus in solving a problem. However, often in certain situations, the principal requires another (authoritarian).

The purpose of this research is to describe the role of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Educators in Improving the Quality of Islamic Religious Education, and to find out the process of improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Ar - Rahmah and what are the obstacles and efforts to improve the quality of Islamic Education. This study uses a qualitative research method, which is a study that intends to understand the phenomenon of what is experienced by the research subject, for example behavior, perception, motivation, action and others, holistically and by way of description in the form of words and language, at a time. special contexts that are natural and by utilizing various natural methods, and in natural field situations as they are without manipulation. The results of this study show that: (1) The role of madrasah diniyah takmiliyah Awaliyah Ar-Rahmah in improving the quality of Islamic religious education (2) Forms of cooperation between Madrasah diniyah takmiliyah Awaliyah Ar-Rahmah and parents of students (3) the process of improving the quality of Islamic religious education in Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah Ar-Rahmah (4) obstacles and efforts in improving the quality of Islamic religious education.

The integration of technology into Islamic Education (PAI) in secondary schools encounters challenges such as limited facilities and low digital competence. This study analyzes implementation strategies, supporting and inhibiting factors, and the impact of digital-based PAI learning on student quality in Central Sulawesi. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Informants included three principals, three PAI teachers, and three students from three schools. Data analysis involved reduction, visualization with N-Vivo software, and validation with informants. The findings show that strategies include principals’ roles in policymaking and supervision, the use of educational videos, the Canva application, and the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) model. Supporting factors are leadership support, teacher readiness, and student enthusiasm. Key obstacles are limited technological devices, low teacher digital literacy, and restricted internet access. Digital-based PAI learning improves students’ digital skills, enhances learning outcomes, and strengthens critical thinking. The study concludes that with appropriate strategies and adequate resources, digital-based PAI learning can enhance student competencies. It recommends providing digital literacy training for teachers, ensuring adequate technological infrastructure, and reinforcing digital learning concepts to optimize Islamic Education in secondary schools.

The aim of this research is to explain the influence of the principal's policy on the quality of Islamic education at SMA IT Yarsi Mataram. This research uses a quantitative type with an analytical design. The population of this study were all teachers and students of SMA IT Yarsi Mataram and the sample was 10 teachers and 15 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. Data collection techniques through observation with questionnaire instruments for Islamic education policy and quality. The data analysis technique uses the t test and/or F test. The results of the research show that there is an influence of the principal's policy on the quality of Islamic education at SMA IT Yarsi Mataram as seen from the significant value obtained in the t test and F test of 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05. This means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This shows that there is an influence of the principal's policy on improving the quality of Islamic education at SMA IT Yarsi Mataram. The better the policies decided by the school principal, the more the quality of Islamic education will improve. This research is a stimulus for school principals to consider all their policies because they will determine the quality of the school.

The principal's work ethic is a work norm or standard that must be met and implemented by the principal in order to create a quality and quality school. The principal plays a role in all aspects of the school, including in school development and related to improving the quality of education. The quality of education is a school's ability in overall management of everything related to the school which will then produce quality output. The quality of Islamic education is very important in an Islamic educational institution, as is the case with education in general, where the quality must have high quality or experience quality improvement for the advancement of Islamic education. Islamic education will produce a nation's next generation who can compete well in the era of globalization, namely by being equipped with an understanding of religious knowledge and general knowledge, so that their knowledge balances between world knowledge and knowledge of the hereafter. The role of the school principal is very influential in improving the quality of Islamic education, where the principal must have the ability to manage his performance properly, besides that the principal is also required to always find innovation so that the quality of Islamic education can be further improved, but it must be based on Islamic laws.

This study is conducted to analyze the concept of Total Quality Management (TQM) in Islamic education in the globalization era. It studies the implementation of TQM in Islamic education in the globalization era. It is a library study focusing on the concept of TQM in Islamic education in the globalization era. The primary data of this study include the scientific papers related to the concept of TQM in Islamic education in the globalization era, while the secondary data include the scientific papers related to the concepts of management, Islamic education, and globalization era. This library study uses qualitative approach. This study finds that the implementation of TQM in Islamic education is intended to improve the quality of Islamic education. These days, the quality of Islamic education is still being underestimated by many parties in terms of the competence of its graduates. Therefore, the Islamic educational institution should apply the concept of TQM in its education management to face the globalization challenges. TQM can be applied for all types of educational institutions and level of education. The quality issues must be the main concern of all educational institutions, including the Islamic education institution. The Islamic education institutions, such as madrasah, Islamic boarding school and others, are required to generate excellent graduates. Therefore, the implementation of TQM become the main priority that is expected to improve the quality of Islamic education.

This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership on the quality of Islamic education. Principals have a key role in determining the direction, strategy, and policies that have an impact on the success of educational establishments, particularly in regard to Islamic education that emphasizes moral, spiritual, and academic values. Effective leadership can create a conducive learning environment, motivate educators, and optimize student performance. A quantitative survey with several principals, teachers, and students is the research method employed from various Islamic schools. Data were analyzed using regression techniques to see the correlation between principal leadership variables and the quality of education. The results of the study indicate that participatory, inspiring, and adaptive principal leadership significantly improves the quality of Islamic education, as evidenced by rising academic achievement, the growth of religious character, and high teacher satisfaction. This study emphasizes how crucial it is to give principals more leadership skills in order to raise the standard of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Globalization has had a significant impact, both positive and negative, on Indonesian society, especially in the moral and mental aspects of the younger generation. Phenomena such as declining moral values, deviant behavior, and mental problems are challenges that need to be addressed through effective character education. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic character education through extracurricular activities in strengthening the mental and moral aspects of students at MI Hidayatul Mukhlisin. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis related to the implementation of extracurricular activities based on Islamic character education at the school. The results showed that extracurricular activities such as scouts and Islamic values-based activities play a significant role in shaping students' characters. Islamic character education through these activities succeeds in: (1) improve students' morality and ethics, (2) strengthen spiritual and social aspects, (3) form Islamic personalities, and (4) build mental resilience in facing various life challenges. The implication of this research confirms the importance of integrating Islamic values in extracurricular activities as a strategy to form a young generation that is noble, has strong morals, and is able to adapt to the demands of globalization. Recommendations are given to schools to improve the planning and implementation of character-based activities and to extend this research to other school contexts for more generalizable results.

<p>Implementation of early childhood education (ECD) in Indonesia, especially under the auspices of Islamic educational institutions are still very limited and have not been able to cater to the educational needs of early children across Indonesia. In addition, an increase in the quantity of early childhood institutions, has not been accompanied by an increase in quality. For that, we need innovative learning model in early childhood institutions. This research focuses on the implementation of thematic learning model on Islamic Education in Raudhatulathfal Al-Jihad, which covers all aspects of planning (program), execution (process), evaluation of thematic learning, and its impact on the quality of Islamic education. The research method used was eksperimental research. In addition to testing, the researcher also collected qualitative data through observation and interviews. The study is located in the Kelurahan Kalibaru RT.02 RW.02 Kecamatan Cilodong, Depok, West Java. Formally, the tryout of study was conducted from January to July 2012. Based on the research conducted, through validation readability level, student responses and learning outcomes, the thematic learning model on Islamic education deserves to be applied to early childhood education in Raudhatulathfal Al-Jihad and also applied to other institutions those are similar. In the pre-test results, two different groups obtained about average 7.737 for the experimental group; and 7.789 for the controlled group. Once the thematic learning model on Islamic education applied, then the group of students performed post-test, the result is 8.578 for the experimental group; and 7.947 for the controlled group. The impact of the implementation of the model thematic learning on Islamic education in early childhood toward the quality of Islamic education is very significant. This is obvious from the responses of students very well, that is 96.51%, and the learning outcomes achieved 100% completion. Through a thematic learning model on Islamic education in early childhood, the average increase in the quality of education obtained in the experimental group were higher (0.841) than the controlled one (0.158). Therefore, it is highly recommended that thematic model of learning to be applied in Islamic educational institutions which organizing early childhood education with specific instructional objectives for learning Islamic Education, which covers three areas; cognitive, affective and psychomotor, so that every student in early childhood education can develop basic competencies, such as morals behavioral/social emotional, Islamic competence and other basic competences as the provision they entered to the next educational level.</p><p class="Affiliation"><strong><em><br /></em></strong></p>

Purpose – Character cultivation and development is a major study in modern education today. Islamic character education has become one of the interesting topics in the discussion. This study examines data mapping and networking about Islamic character education in the Scopus journal database. Design/methods/approach – This study used a descriptive qualitative method with a total of 204 selected articles related to Islamic character education. All the published journals have a publication range of the last 13 years, from 2010 to 2023. The authors exported data through software and then processed and analyzed them by using VOSviewer software to find networking maps based on co-author, co-occurrence, and co-citation. Findings – The study results found three significant themes related to the object and results of Islamic character education research, publishers who publish journals, and theoretical citations used by researchers of Islamic character education article journals. Of the three results, the first point related to publication documents is dominated by countries with majority Muslim populations, namely Indonesia and Malaysia. Meanwhile, the second and third points are dominated by Western countries. Another important finding in this study was the keywords found have used many words, such as character education, Islamic education, religion, and Islamic religious education. Research implications/limitations – The results of this study still have limitations on the number of limited publications, subjectivity in analyzing efforts, and incomplete analysis programs. Originality/value – This research can be a reference for future research that is expected to be more comprehensive in designing the research design so as to produce more complete findings.

This study aims to determine; (1) the competence of Islamic religious teacher administration in SDIT Al-Husna, South Lebong. (2) the process of improving the quality of Islamic religious education learning at SDIT Al-Husna Selatan Lebong, (3) the results of the implementation of the strategy to improve the quality of learning in Islamic religious education at SDIT Al-Husna Lebong Selatan. The existence of this research is expected to improve the quality of learning in Islamic religious education in SDIT Al-Husna, South Lebong. This study uses a type of experimental research. The sample in the study was all first grade students of SDIT Al-Husan Lebong Selatan in the 2018/2019 academic year consisting of 2 classes with a total of 17 IA class students and 17 class I B students. Data was collected by observation, interviews, documentation and results tests study in multiple choice. The collected data is processed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that: (1) the administrative completeness of Islamic education teachers at Al-Husna Lebong Selatan SDIT was at a percentage of 61.25%, meaning that the complete administrative documents for learning Islamic education teachers at SDIT Al-Husna Lebong Selatan were incomplete. (2) the process of improving the quality of Islamic education learning in the Al-Husna South Lebong SDIT by completing the Islamic education teacher teaching administration to 87.5%. Then in the learning process carried out with 3 meetings by applying the strategy to improve the quality of learning in the experimental class and expository strategy in the control class. (3) the results of the implementation of the strategy to improve the quality of learning Islamic education in SDIT Al-Husna Selatan Lebong in the experimental class there were average learning outcomes, 77.05, 81.17 and 85.88 and in the control class there were an average of 75.88 , 77.05 and 77.94. This means that the implementation of the quality improvement strategy in the experimental class was more successful in improving the quality of Islamic education learning in SDIT Al-Husna in the South rather than the expository strategy in the control class.

Islamic character education is a fundamental pillar in shaping a morally upright generation amid the challenges of value globalization. This study aims to examine the strategies for instilling Islamic character values implemented at Pesantren Manbaul Hikam, Bangkalan, Madura. The main focus of this research is to identify the approaches and educational methods used by pesantren to embed Islamic character values for students (santri). This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that the strategies for Islamic character education at Pesantren Manbaul Hikam are carried out through the integration of exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah), habitual Islamic practices in daily life, and classical Islamic text learning (kitab kuning) which emphasizes moral teachings. Moreover, the conducive boarding school environment and the close relationship between the kiai (Islamic teacher) and the students enhance the internalization of core character values such as honesty, responsibility, simplicity, and obedience. In conclusion, Islamic character education at Pesantren Manbaul Hikam is not merely cognitive or affective, but also practical through a consistently cultivated culture of daily life. This strategy demonstrates that traditional pesantren can serve as a relevant and adaptive model for Islamic character education in the face of modern societal dynamics.

Research aim to: - Structure a job engagement scale for physical education teachers in secondary schools in the city of Mosul - Identifying the level of occupational involvement of physical education teachers in secondary schools in the city of Mosul. The descriptive approach was used by survey method. The construction and final application samples included (146.98) teachers, respectively, of physical education teachers in secondary schools in the city of Mosul, distributed among middle, secondary and preparatory schools. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, simple correlation, Gittmann equation and Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The researchers drew several conclusions, the most important of which are - The validity of the occupational involvement scale by physical education teachers, which was built by the researchers on middle, secondary and middle schools in the city of Mosul. - The degree of occupational involvement of physical education teachers in middle, secondary and preparatory schools in the city of Mosul is at a (very good) level. Therefore, the researcher recommends: - Holding intensive educational seminars and courses that encourage job engagement in all other specializations in secondary schools in the city of Mosul. - Applying the job engagement scale to other samples of all specializations. - Develop an evaluation form for the performance of physical education teachers in secondary schools that includes all aspects of their work in order to ensure the objectivity of the evaluation and circulate it to all secondary schools throughout Iraq

Information and communication technology development in the last few decades has transformed many aspects of human life, including education. Digital transformation has brought challenge and opportunity to education systems in the world. In Indonesia, Islamic education has a crucial role in building character and morals of the younger generation. The Islamic religious education curriculum is often considered less responsive to the dynamics of technological change. Digital transformation in Islamic education provides many opportunities to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of Islamic education. Some of these opportunities are the use of technology in learning, data management and curriculum development. This research aims to describe curriculum development for Islamic religious education in the digital era. The study used a library research method, in this case author collected various literatures related to the topic of discussion, namely the Islamic Education curriculum in the digital era. The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing technological approaches in curriculum development. The results of this study indicate that technology integration in Islamic education can improve the quality of learning, if implemented with careful planning and proper support. The research also identified some challenges, such as the digital gap and lack of teacher training, and social cultural influence. The long-term goal of this research is to provide policy recommendations that can support the development of a more inclusive and effective technology-based curriculum.

This article investigates the quality of Islamic education in the practice of dualism in Indonesia. This dichotomy is related to differences in the quality of Islamic education, as well as its implications for graduates of Islamic education institutions in the field. Through literature research, it shows that dualism in the management and implementation of Islamic education in Indonesia creates significant challenges, including non-uniformity in educational standards, an imbalance between religious education and general knowledge, as well as gaps in the quality of education between institutions. However, this article also identifies efforts to overcome this dualism, such as curriculum integration programs and capacity building for education managers. By analyzing quality in the dualistic dynamics of Islamic education management, this article provides valuable insight for education stakeholders, including the government, educational institutions, and the wider community, to develop a more holistic and integrated strategy in improving the quality and relevance of Islamic education in Indonesia
