Integrating distribution and supply logistics: a systemic conceptual framework
This paper examines the conceptual, structural, and functional relationships between distribution logistics and supply logistics, two domains that are often perceived as synonymous despite their fundamentally different roles within the logistics chain. The study clarifies frequently used terms, defines their correct positioning within distribution and supply logistics, and analyses their interconnections in the context of material, information, and financial flows. Based on established scientific literature, professional standards, and practical project experience, the paper highlights the distinctions between distribution, physical distribution, physical supply, and distribution logistics as a system. It further explains the functions of distribution in value creation, harmonisation of supply and demand, and execution of essential operational activities, including transport, storage, regrouping, and customer service. The research emphasises the systemic integration of distribution and supply as inseparable parts of a single chain, driven by the potential difference between supply and demand. The paper also outlines the structural role of distribution channels, logistics channels, and acquisition and logistics distribution subsystems, illustrating how coordinated strategic and operational decisions influence the performance of the entire logistics system. By defining key terms and illustrating their relationships, the study contributes to a clearer conceptual framework for logistics professionals and supports more accurate use of logistics terminology in academic and practical environments. The proposed framework supports consistent terminology usage in logistics education, research, and practical system design.

This article aims to find out and analyze management of Procurement of Logistics Operations and distribution of logistics for the 2019 election as well as analyzing obstacles in the procurement and distribution of Election Operations. The procedure for collecting information is by collecting and summarizing data that is not recorded in numbers but in the form of an explanation that is described and analyzed descriptively with a qualitative approach. Data obtained through interviews and library documents. The problem is focused on four main indicators in logistics distribution to support the completeness of the 2019 Election, namely, Logistics Management, Budget certainty, procrutment and logistics distribution. Therefore, logistics management and distribution have a very important role for the successful completion of the 2019 election, where the processes involved are interrelated with one another. The theory used in this problem is from Bowersox (2002) which states that the main logistics characteristics of logistics activities are the integration of various sizes and demands formovementand storage. The results of the research prove that due to a lack of communication between the Balikpapan City KPU and the RI KPU along with logistics providers, some of the logistics equipment is procured late, so that the arrival of logistics from providers does not coincide causing the logistics system to not work properly, obstacles in pawning and distribution of Election Operations namely the intervention of the commissioner in terms of procurement and raising prices in the appointed procurement directly resulted in state losses that had to be returned, and the lack of sending ballots caused delays in logistics and minimal transportation personnel, so that it became an obstacle in the distribution of logistics.

Integrated decisions in the system of the marketing logistics are the main resource for providing the efficient management of the value chain. Moreover, there is not a sufficient number of methodological approaches, which could use in complex the principles of the integrated modelling of decisions in the operational systems “procurement marketing – supply logistics” and “sales marketing – distribution logistics”. Considering that fact, the methodology of selecting strategic alternatives based on the integrated modeling in separate marketing logistics chains and in stage-by-stage formation of the supply chain participants has been developed in the article. The research is based on the application of the AHP method and the method of planning “dual sourcing” (70/30) for grounding the selection of the supply strategy at the market of material resources; methods of optimal planning according to Bayes criterion, linear programming and logistics modelling – for grounding the selection of the managerial decisions on the strategy of distributing the ready produce. The research covers, firstly, grounding the essence of the marketing logistics through the systemic approach to identification of its main and servicing business processes; secondly, improvement in the process of planning decisions in the procurement marketing system by adding the procedure of the logistical selection of the hierarchical estimation with a different degree of advantages in alternative supply strategies; thirdly, formation of the cascade integrated approach toward selection of the alternative distribution channels for the finished produce by estimating the complex marketing effect and application of the logistical model of optimal distribution.

The delays and constraints that distribution centers have in supplying logistics that are often faced are related to transportation and transportation facilities that are not optimal, as well as the location of distribution centers to the remote Koarmada I area. In this study, an analysis of the effectiveness of the implementation of logistics distribution by a logistics distribution agency was carried out and the influence of the implementation of logistics distribution on supply performance to support the Koarmada I Marine Combat Operations. From the measurement model obtained using SEM-AMOS software on the three variables of Location, Transportation and Inventory that builds Logistic Distribution, Location variable has a high value of 0.566. This means that the effectiveness of the implementation of logistics distribution in distributing logistics supplies from the distribution center to Koarmada I is not effective. So that in order to answer the existing problems, the Indonesian Navy needs to plan the formation of a logistics supply distribution organization through organizational validation, building reserve locations that are in strategic positions, building infrastructure and managing logistics supplies in a comprehensive and integrated manner.

Every country concerns itself to some extent with the efficient and equitable distribution of goods to its people. In order to unravel the logistics of physical distribution in China, it is critical to understand the political and economic context in which it is carried out. The policy of capitalist or mixed economy countries is to let manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers compete to provide the goods at the time, place and price desired by the customer. As a rule, neither government policy nor the distribution process is set up to ensure that people will get the particular goods for a set price or at a given location. Prices are a function of the relative power held by consumers, distribution channels and producers. Location is a function of customer demand. It is assumed that the discipline of the marketplace will keep the system operating with reasonable efficiency.

Aiming at the problems of complex urban road network, low efficiency of logistics distribution, and the difficulty of large-scale logistics distribution area division and routing planning, this paper proposes a two-stage logistics distribution vehicle routing optimization (VRP) method based on the establishment of a multi-factor complex road network constrained logistics distribution mathematical model. Considering the complex traffic elements and road network topological structure in logistics and distribution, in the first stage, a heuristic simulated annealing (HSA) distribution region partitioning algorithm is proposed with the objective of balancing vehicle task load to divide the urban logistics distribution network under complex road networks, so as to reduce the area scale and path search cost. In the second stage of route decision making, aiming at minimizing the total cost of logistics distribution, combining the VRP problem with complex road network conditions, a heuristic path search method combined with complex road network model constraints is proposed. In this stage, a hybrid genetic beam search(HGBS) algorithm is used to plan the path nodes, reduce the randomness of the model in the initial search for paths by heuristic genetic algorithms, then combine with Beam graph search methods to reduce the space and time used for the search, and use optimization algorithms to improve the accuracy of independent sub-region routing optimization and the rationality of overall physical distribution route selection. Finally, the proposed method is validated in this paper with two practical cases. The experimental results show that the two-stage decision-making algorithm proposed in this paper has certain advantages in partitioning schemes, minimizing total cost and iteration times. Through comparison, the optimization ability of this method for logistics distribution networks is proved.

This study investigates the key success factors (KSFs) for selecting the consumer to consumer (C2C) logistics provider in Thailand. Relevant factors related to the selection criteria of a C2C third party logistic (3PL) provider are first solicited from the literatures and 17 major factors which are categorised in five groups are identified by a group of experts. Then, we apply analytical hierarchy process method incorporated with the three ranking logic to calculate the global weight for each factor. Finally, it is found that the top four KSFs for selecting C2C 3PL providers in Thailand are: 1) transport price, 2) on-time delivery, 3) quality of service, 4) short lead time. These results can let the 3PL providers understand the needs of the players in the C2C markets. Furthermore, it can be also treated as a guideline for the C2C entrepreneurs to monitor and improve the quality of their customer services.
