Abstract

Development of marine port infrastructure leads to increase of pressure on the marine and coastal environment of the St. Petersburg and Leningrad region. Integrated indicator approach to comparison coastal local municipalities within region in temporal scale can provide information on the environment sensitivity and main stressors, which have an impact on the environment. Special attention paid on the local municipalities, where marine port operations are under development. Integrated indicator approach is developed, based on environmental impact assessment of current situation in a port area and using general economic parameters, shows a complex evaluation of current situation in a region and its local municipalities that reflects a coastal sensitivity to marine port activities. Dimensionless calculated parameters give possibilities to compare municipalities in different regions between each other. The paper presents results on comparison environmental and economic indicators for coastal local municipalities in the Leningrad region for the period from 2008 to 2015.
