Abstract

This chapter provides a summary of the inorganic chemical process industry and highlights processes involved in the manufacture of six important key inorganic chemicals including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, ammonium nitrate, sodium chloride, cement, and glass. Four illustrative examples and four problems are presented that highlight the application of reliability and probability concepts to the inorganic chemical industry.
