The article outlines topical issues of improving the content of professional training of future primary school teachers on the basis of sustainable development. The purpose of this study is to outline ways to implement the ideas of sustainable development in the educational process of higher education institutions in general, in the training of students majoring in «Primary Education» in particular. The following theoretical methods provided the basis of scientific research: analysis of psychological and pedagogical, methodological and special literature, information sources on the issue; generalization, comparison, comprehension of information on the conditions of training future primary school teachers on the basis of sustainable development. As a result of research conducted the organizational and pedagogical conditions of professional training of applicants for higher education on the basis of sustainable development were established. We believe that the training of primary school professionals is effective if a system of real education practices for sustainable development is created, which combines formal, non-formal and informal education. It has been proved that the effective training of future primary school teachers on the basis of sustainable development within formal education should be interdisciplinary, as it is related to the global, comprehensiveness of sustainable development as a phenomenon. It was found that the condition for the organization of a successful educational environment of the university on the basis of sustainable development is the use of new pedagogical models, new pedagogical culture and thinking, new technologies and teaching methods. Among them is the pedagogy of empowerment (motivation and inspiration for action). An important condition for the training of modern applicants for higher education is the interactivity of the educational environment. It is established that education for sustainable development is an important area of training for higher pedagogical education, as the Concept of the New Ukrainian School declares the principles of sustainable development. The training of future primary school teachers in this area involves the acceptance of the values of sustainable development as personal qualities and determines the willingness of future primary education professionals to implement the ideas of sustainable development in the practice of modern primary school.

The truffle has gone from being a culinary singularity of certain Mediterranean regions (France, Italy and Spain) to becoming in recent decades a luxury commodity in the agricultural markets with high prices and high profitability for producers and suppliers. This truffle's centrality generates a constant rising demand that provokes new suppliers to try to enter this market within the framework of globalization. Until now, studies about truffles have focused mainly on physical, biological and agribusiness aspects. This study proposes a descriptive analysis of the global truffle market. based on the following reseach question: What are the changes that Globalization entails in the production and international market of truffles? This study proposes a descriptive analysis of the global truffle market based on the following reseach question: What are the changes that Globalization entails in the production and international market of truffles? The analysis starts with truffle production, focuses on the factors that determine it, and has a direct impact on the supply. To analyse the interaction between supply and demand for truffles, we have generated two double-entry matrices where the ten largest importers and the ten largest exporters are analysed in relation to prices and quantities imported and exported. To this end, we have studied the factors determining production and prices of truffles, as well as the interrelations in the global market and the added social and ecological value of their cultivation. The fundamental result of the analysis is a three-dimensional and holistic image of the whole market that reflects both the interacting agents in terms of production and trade, import and export, and product flows in the world. Truffles are not only important for their commercial and market value, but also for their environmental and social values. The cultivation of truffles is a driver of agricultural an rural development as the experience of certain rural-continental areas in the European Union evidences. These values are particularly important because they configure the truffle as a community commodity whose production can benefit both the rural population and territory in question.

Multinational Corporations and Foreign Investment: Current Trends and Issues
  • Mar 1, 1982
  • The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science
  • Jane Sneddon Little

Surely multinational corporations (MNCs) symbolize the internationalization of America for the U.S. public. The United States is the world's leading home and host country for these global firms. However, while our MNCs have considerable weight in some foreign countries, by most measures, foreign-owned businesses do not loom very large in the U.S. economy. Although the free flow of foreign direct investment promotes economic efficiency and world welfare, from a national viewpoint MNCs appear threatening. In particular, the U.S. public is concerned that our MNCs export U.S. jobs and that foreign MNCs can use U.S. resources to undercut our national goals. These fears are largely unfounded. On the whole, the traditional U.S. “open door” to foreign investment has served this country well. Nevertheless, many foreign governments are now trying to channel foreign investment flows to maximize their own national advantage. To protect our interests, the U.S. government is being urged to adopt similar regulations. The United States has no need for such measures; however, U.S. and world interests would be well served by an international agreement limiting efforts to distort foreign investment decisions. Because U.S. investment flows are huge by world standards but have a relatively small impact on our own economy, the United States has a unique ability to help form an international consensus on acceptable foreign investment policies.

Today, a solid foundation is being laid for the systemic structural modernization of the domestic energy complex on the basis of sustainable development. It is primarily about the formation of a qualitatively new energy profile of Ukraine on the basis of bringing the activities of the national energy sector into compliance with the requirements of the European Green Course and its systemic innovation, the deep "embedding" of the energy complex into European energy markets, a drastic reduction in the level of energy intensity of the gross domestic product, the dynamic development of renewable energy, complete replacement of outdated coal-fired generation by renewable generation, and – especially – establishment of large-scale hydrogen production. Moreover, precisely during the period of post-war recovery of the economy of Ukraine, a wide "window of opportunity" opens for it to finally get rid of many objects of the Soviet energy legacy, rebuilding its energy infrastructure with the funds of foreign partners, forming fundamentally new structural segments and fundamentally modernizing all market institutions of the domestic energy market, as required by the parameters of national energy security. In the post-war recovery of the energy sector of Ukraine on the basis of sustainable development, prompt resolution of a number of financial issues is required. All the mentioned measures of "greening" of the energy sector of Ukraine in the post-war period are able not only to ensure its systematic modernization on the basis of sustainable development, but also to significantly increase the level of its productivity and integration into the European energy space. It is within the framework of the latter that stable material, technical and organizational and economic prerequisites for the national energy security of our country can be formed with the development of diversified cooperative ties of Ukrainian and European producers of energy products. In this way, it is possible to achieve both a significant increase in income and employment in the domestic energy sector, as well as an increase in the efficiency of its functioning and a more complete satisfaction of the energy needs of Ukrainian and European energy consumers without harming the environment.

The Role of Foreign Investments in the Context of the Country’s Economic Development
  • Oct 7, 2025
  • “Katchar” Collection of Scientific Articles International Scientific-Educational Center NAS RA
  • Vardan Kalantaryan

In a modern economy, investment activity is one of the main factors of economic development, structural changes and increased competitiveness. A significant part of the countries of the world strive to attract and encourage foreign investments to strengthen productive capacities and sustainable economic development. And for a foreign direct investor, the primary motive for investment is the establishment of long-term relations with the host enterprise, provided that it has a significant influence on its management, as well as increasing profits, reducing taxes, diversifying risks, etc. Currently, the main subjects of foreign direct investment in the global market are international companies and financial groups. However, in reality, foreign direct investment alone cannot guarantee the prosperity of the national economy. The latter, as a development tool, has both its advantages and disadvantages, and in the host country, they contribute to sustainable economic growth only if certain conditions are met. In this regard, the government of the host country is responsible for establishing conditions for foreign direct investment that will contribute to the long-term economic growth of that country, and not only to ensuring the profits of foreign investors. Therefore, the impact of foreign direct investment on the host country depends on many factors, such as the method of entering the market, the sources of financing for direct investment, the latter’s impact on the activities of companies operating in the host country, etc. On the other hand, regardless of the volume of foreign investment, it can also be completely useless and lead to the ruthless waste of the country’s natural resources, as well as the population’s dependence on the outside world for many years. Only with a balanced and considered approach to the joint interests of investors and the host country can it be ensured that foreign investments are effectively attracted and utilised for the benefit of the country’s economic prosperity and the improvement of the population’s living standards.

EXPERIENCE IN DESIGNING ENERGY-EFFICIENT PUBLIC BUILDINGS OF STATE OWNERSHIP IN UKRAINE
  • Jun 4, 2020
  • Current problems of architecture and urban planning
  • Valerij Urenev + 1 more

The article describes the experience of designing energy-efficient public buildings in state institutions of Ukraine in recent years, reveals typical spatial and spatial solutions and their relationship with their implemented energy efficiency technologies. It is established that today the state plays the leading role in the process of introducing energy-efficient technologies in the construction of public buildings. Since the obsolescence and inefficiency of the state real estate fund is enormous and involves the investment of significant funds, the reimbursement of which is not quick and can take decades, the implementation of the developed plans and programs is possible only with the system support and interaction of the state, specialized international organizations, domestic and foreign investors and the scientific and professional community. It was revealed that the artistic and aesthetic side of the architecture of energy-efficient public buildings has not been sufficiently developed - in most cases, design and architectural work is limited to rendering minimalistic facades and entrance groups. To preserve the urban environment, it is necessary to develop key principles for the design of such budget facilities. At the same time, they should be separated from the principles of designing energy-efficient commercial facilities of the same typology, since they have different approaches, conditions, capabilities and design goals. It is recommended for each type of public buildings that are state-owned to draw up their “Recommendations and Tips”, which will allow for the efficient and accelerated implementation of the principles of energy-efficient consumption in the construction and reconstruction of public buildings. Such methodological documents should be developed both with the participation of test practitioners of foreign experience, and taking into account local economic, social, industrial and other conditions.

DOMESTIC PRACTICE FOR REAL INVESTMENT IN UKRAINE
  • Dec 18, 2019
  • Visnyk of the Lviv University. Series Economics
  • L Tkachyk + 1 more

The basis of investment activity is real investment, and in modern conditions, for most enterprises, it is the only type of capital investment. All forms of real investment can be reduced to three main areas: capital investment, innovative investment and investment in the growth of current assets. The choice of specific forms of real investment in enterprises depends on the tasks set and the chosen development strategy. Capital investment is a fundamental parameter of the reproductive process, which determines the possibility of renewal of fixed capital, structural reforms, sustainable long-term economic and social development of the country. However, the dynamics of the Ukrainian economy is characterized by the presence of a number of systemic problems that require urgent resolution and shape the risks for further economic growth. The dynamics of capital investments in Ukraine in recent years is characterized by persistent trends and confirms the rise of investment activity. For Ukraine, there is a significant uneven development of capital investment in a regional context. Almost all capital investments were made into tangible assets (93.3% of total capital investment). Directing funds into an active part of tangible non-current assets helps to increase the efficiency of investments and increases the motivation for further investing. At the same time, the fact that investments in intangible assets remain less priority investment in Ukraine is negative. Although today they are the key economic resource of the modern economies of the developed countries of the world. After all, intangible assets represent the existing intellectual and information potential of the enterprise, which introduces technological changes in the production process, marketing, organizational and other innovations in accordance with the requirements of the new innovative model of the economy. Financing of investment activity can take place both at the expense of domestic and foreign investors. The main source of investment in Ukraine from year to year remains the own funds of national enterprises and organizations. The national economy needs to improve the legal and organizational framework to improve the functioning of mechanisms for ensuring a favorable investment climate and ensuring the competitiveness of the domestic economy.. Keywords : sources of financing, innovative investments, capital investments, real investments.

  • Gehan Wishwajith Premathilake + 4 more

PurposeHumanoid social robots (HSRs) are an innovative technology revitalizing various service sectors, such as the hospitality industry. However, limited research has explored how anthropomorphic features of HSRs influence user satisfaction with the services delivered by HSRs. To address this, a research model was proposed to evaluate how three distinct anthropomorphic features: appearance, voice and response, impact the perceived values (i.e. utilitarian, social and hedonic values) of HSRs, which, in turn, influence user satisfaction.Design/methodology/approachData from an online survey of hotel customers was utilized to test the research model (N = 509).FindingsThe results indicated that appearance, voice, and response affect perceived utilitarian, hedonic and social values differently. The response feature of HSRs demonstrated the strongest impact on perceived utilitarian, social and hedonic values. In addition, voice affected all three perceived values, while appearance only affected perceived utilitarian and social values. Furthermore, perceived utilitarian, hedonic and social values showed positive impacts on user satisfaction, with hedonic value being the most influential factor.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the literature on HSRs and anthropomorphism by explaining how different anthropomorphic features affect users’ value perceptions and user satisfaction with HSR services by utilizing the stimulus-organism-response (SOR) framework.

The article is devoted to theoretical problems of social capital conversion in modern conditions based on modern ideas and taking into account the specifi cs of social capital formation in Ukraine in recent years as well as the latest achievements of social practices in European countries. The article is relevant due to the need to accelerate the processes of social capitalization and its conversion into open productive forms for social consensus, social development and economic growth. The novelty of the study lies in the formation of a system of views on the nature of social conversion, its contradictions, identifi ed on the basis of systematization of existing relationships and interdependencies in this area, as well as substantiation of models to minimize possible negative consequences for society. The positions of social capital in the structure of total capital, its connection with natural, physical, fi nancial and human capital are conceptually defi ned, and the leading role of open social capital in the formation of a democratic society is proved. The specifi cs of the conversion of social capital in comparison with other forms of capital are revealed. It is established that currently the contradiction between national and corporate social capital is gaining signs of stability. The basic principles and methods of conversion of social capital, adequate to the conditions of formation of a democratic society, are substantiated. Based on the assessment of real trends in socio-economic development and common social practices, three possible models of minimizing the contradictions that arise during the conversion of domestic social capital are proposed, each of which is subject to specifi c tasks and achieving certain development goals. The model of mobilization adaptation is based on the formation of new values in society, norms by public authorities using mostly ideological resources of infl uence on the basis of authority and trust in it by citizens. The model of modernization is focused on updating the statutory norms and rules through their approximation to real economic needs and social practices in accordance with the notion that any law is a normalized ingrained tradition. The model of compromise solutions involves achieving a balance between formal and informal norms in order to achieve a synergistic eff ect from the conversion of social capital.
