Abstract

The use of bioresources for producing products with high added value is becoming more and more important in the context of biotechonomy. Due to this and other reasons, scientists are inventing new innovative products, made from biomass, and their production technologies. The question is – which of the resources is better and is it possible to compare two different products? Therefore, the authors of the paper have developed a method, with the help of which, it is possible to analyse and compare innovative products with high added value from forest biomass. The method is fitted to the biggest Latvian bioresource (forest biomass) owner and manager JSC “Latvia's State Forests”. Three innovative products, which can be produced from forest biomass and used in power generation are mentioned as examples for the use of the method.
