Abstract

PELITA-A is a useful breakwater building that is designed to break and absorb the energy from the waves and transform it into the electrical energy that will be very beneficial for the society. In addition to that, PELITA-A is also formed to cultivate, preserve as well as protect the growth of the coral and the reef marine ecosystem. At the same time, it will help the society to improve their income by creating a new tourism site. PELITA-A is a breakwater which is functioned to prevent the coastal erosion and reduce the energy of the waves, while at the same time the kinetic energy of waves can transform to generate electrical power. As the nature of the ocean that is continuously generating the waves every time that makes waves can be considered as an option for a power plant. Through this power plant, the great energy of the waves can be converted into sustainable electrical power. Resulting from the calculation, the wave power could generate the amount of electricity 33,269.307 WH and it can reduce up to 85.61% of the height of waves and 21.19% of wave reflection.
