Abstract

Purpose: Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death for children greater than 1 year of age and can be prevented with appropriate education. However, physicians may not be comfortable or have enough time during the visit to discuss injury prevention. We chose this setting because previous studies have illustrated that utilizing the time in the waiting room to provide education yields positive results. There are two main purposes of this study. The first is to provide injury prevention education that is accessible to caregivers outside of the well-child visit.
