Aromatische Diamidinoverbindungen sind hochwirksame Hemmstoffe des Trypsins. 2,2′-Dibromopropamidin, die starkste der hier untersuchten Verbindungen, besitzt gegenuber der BANA-Hydrolyse eine Inhibitions-Konstante von 7.6×10−7 M. Amicarbalid und M & B 4596 sind gute Hemmstoffe der Enterokinase, doch erreichen sie die Wirkung derp-Amidinophenylbrenztraubensaure nicht.
