Abstract

The IR-spectra of potassium osmiate with 15N and 18O isotopic substitution, respectively, are reported. In order to get accurate isotope frequency shifts, the spectrum of normal KOsO 3N has been reinvestigated. Plausible force constants of the osmiate ion have been determined by use of the measured shifts in conjunction with the High/Low Frequency Separation Method and transferred constants from OsO 4.
