Abstract

Single crystals of L-arginine phosphate monohydrate (LAP) ( C6H14N4O2·H3PO4·H2O) were successfully grown from aqueous solution of L-arginine and phosphoric acid at an ambient temperature of 28.5° C for different pH values ranging from 2.1 to 5.04. As-grown single crystals were characterized by chemical analysis, density measurement and X-ray powder diffraction studies. Infrared (IR) spectroscopy, thermo-gravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analyses (DTA) measurements were performed to study the molecular vibration and thermal behaviour of LAP crystals.
