Abstract

In the 21st century, information and communication competence is a key human competence. The article presents materials that reveal the information and communication competence of a teacher-defectologist in the educational space of students with intellectual disability. The urgency of the problem rests on the need to use information and communication technologies in the educational space of students with intellectual disability, the effectiveness of which largely depends on the formation of information and communication competence of the teacher-defectologist. However, this issue has been practically overlooked in the theoretical pedagogical literature. The article analyzes the concepts of “competence”, “information and communication competence” and clarifies the concept of “information and communication competence of a teacherdefectologist”, which can be considered as a set of personal qualities ensuring flexibility and readiness for change un der the conditions of informatization of education. The article presents the results of formation of the information and communication competence of a teacherdefectologist in the field of application of information and communication technologies in the classroom activities of students with intellectual disability. The authors suggest the methods of formation of the information and communication competence of a teacherdefectologist and describe the structure of training specialists to use information and communication technologies in their professional activity.
