Abstract
Global warming has become a worldwide subject. As the second-largest greenhouse gas emissions sources, agriculture has tremendous potential. It can play an important role in greenhouse gas emission reduction and make the traditional high carbon agriculture transfer to low carbon agriculture. Based on the regression analysis on total agricultural output, crop acreage, total power of agricultural machinery, the amount of fertilizers, pesticides and agricultural films in Heilongjiang Province, the study shows fertilizer input is the major factor in low-carbon agriculture in Heilongjiang Province. According to current rate of fertilizer input, agricultural output target of Heilongjiang Province can't be completed at the end of the twelfth five-year planning. However, many ways, including fertilizer efficiency improvement, new fertilizer technologies and farmland carbon sink storage, will not only accomplish the expected target with less fertilizers but also reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
