Abstract

To explore the influencing factors of research ability of resident anesthesiologists to improve research training programs. A questionnaire was conducted in 123 residents and graduate students. And the data were collected and analyzed. The proportion of residents publishing papers over the last three years and research skills were much less than that of master degree candidates (P < 0.05) .Senior residents were superior to juniors (7/7; 0/46) (P < 0.05). For residents (esp. juniors), a lack of time, research-related classes and mentor guidance were the major influencing factors of research capability. Sufficient time, research-related knowledge and mentor instructions may improve the research ability.
