Abstract

Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) haploid can be obtained from interspecific hybridization between H. vulgare and H. bulbosum followed by the selective elirnination of H, bulbosum chromosomes. The objective of this study was to investigate the processes of pollen tube growth after pol-lination and chromosome elimination in barley cultivars which showed different efficiency of embryo formation (number of ernbryos obtained / number of florets pollinated) in crossing with diploid H. bulbosum.
