Abstract

Over exploiting the natural resources for construction is threatening the sustainability of natural sand and gravels which results in series of serious consequences. On the other hand, disposing industrial wastes into land causes severe environmental issues and also pollute the land. Many researchers all over the world are thriving hard to effectively dump the industrial wastes in construction field to manage the solid industrial wastes and also to minimize the exploitation of natural resources. This paper discusses about the various attempt that has been made by researches in self-compacting concrete (SCC) using industrial wastes as a replacement for the conventional concreting materials and their effect in strength and durability properties of self-compacting concrete. Convincingly many researchers have reported that the sustainable materials show a positive impact on strength and durability properties of self-compacting concrete when they are added in an optimum dosage.
