Abstract

1. The tensile and yield strengths and the hardness of high-strength cast irons with spheroidal graphite increase with an increase in Mn and pearlite contents in the irons. 2. The impact strength and plasticity of the irons decrease with an increase in Mn and pearlite contents. 3. An increase in graphite inclusion diameter leads to a decrease in impact strength in the case of ductile fracture and to an increase in it in the case of brittle fracture. 4. With an unchanged volume share of them the quantity of graphite inclusions does not influence the strength of the irons.
