Abstract

Objective To study the influence of gliquidone and amlodipine maleate on artery elasticity of hypertensive and diabetes mellitus patients. Methods Patients were divided into 4 groups:hypertension and hyperglycemia controlled group(n=30),hypertension controlled and hyperglycemia uncontrolled group(n=30),hypertension uncontrolled and hyperglycemia controlled group(n=30),hypertension and hyperglycemia uncontrolled group(n=30),and in addition normal control group(n=30).Brachial pulse pressure (PP),brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(baPWV) were measured before and after treatment. Results The values of baPWV were gradually decline from the normal control group to hypertension and hyperglycemia uncontrolled group, and the value was significantly below in hypertension and hyperglycemia uncontrolled group than those of other four groups(P<0.01).The values of baPWV were dramaticaly declined in hypertension and hyperglycemia uncontrolled group,in hypertension uncontrolled and hyperglycemia controlled group, and in hypertension controlled and hyperglycemia uncontrolled group, than those of hypertension and hyperglycemia controlled group and normal control group(P<0.01).The values of baPWV were declined in hypertension and hyperglycemia uncontrolled group than those of hypertension controlled and hyperglycemia uncontrolled or hypertension uncontrolled and hyperglycemia controlled group(P<0.01).The values of baPWV were no obvious difference in hypertension and hyperglycemia controlled group and normal control(P>0.05).The values of SBP,DBP and PP were significantly higher in hypertension controlled and hyperglycemia uncontrolled group, hypertension uncontrolled and hyperglycemia controlled group, hypertension and hyperglycemia uncontrolled group, than this of hypertension and hyperglycemia controlled group and normal control(P<0.01).The values of baPWV and blood pressure, blood pressure and pulse were positively correlated, the values of baPWV and SBP,and hyperglycemia were strongly correlated. Conclusions Regulate blood press and blood glucose level is more effiective to improve arteries elasticity and slow hardening of its function than pure adjust blood pressure or glucose. Key words: Hypertension; Arteries elasticity; Blood pressure; Blood glucose; Pulse waveform analysis
