These oils have been tested on Acanthoscelides obtectus Say, Bruchidae, Coleopterae, the pest of Phaseolus vulgaris L., and it has been observed a toxicity by inhalation [LC50 24h between 2 and 60 mg.ídm3)−1, LC50 48h between 1,5 and 25 mg.(dm3)−1]. The cluster analysis distinguished several classes of LC50. The oils from Labiae family, except M. piperata, have the best insecticidal effect.
