Abstract

Abstract This chapter reviews the general place of international law in India’s conduct of international relations. It touches upon provisions of the Indian Constitution on international law and identifies the reasons why the potential of international law in realizing national security interests is yet to be tapped. The chapter also surveys India’s response to critical areas of national and global security interests in the matrix of the history and geopolitics of the South Asian region, notions of the self, and evolving international law.
