Abstract
The problem discusses the approaches to security in Central Asian region, especially the threats of instability and Taliban activities in Afghanistan methods of joint resistance to terrorism and other evils. The differences in SCO members’ attitude towards India’s future participation in SCO agenda is being considered. The author doubts that SCO can be regarded as a security provider for the region, it is just an instrument of enhancing regional co-operation in various fields.

Аннотация В статье обсуждаются различные подходы к обеспечению безопасности в центральноазиатском регионе, особое внимание уделено угрозам стабильности и деятельности Талибана в Афганистане, методам объединенного сопротивления терроризму и другим вызовам. Рассмотрены расхождения среди членов ШОС относительно будущего участия Индии в Организации. Что ШОС можно рассматривать в качестве гаранта безопасности в регионе, это не более чем инструмент для укрепления регионального сотрудничества в различных областях. Что на предстоящем ежегодном саммите Шанхайской организации сотрудничества (ШОС), который пройдет в Башкортостане (Россия) в июле 2015 г., статус Индии будет повышен с «наблюдателя» до полноправного члена.
