Abstract

.Today,whenHLHSisdiagnosedinthenewborn,or suspected by prenatal ultrasound studies, surgicalinterventions typically take one of two directions – eitherthe multistaged reconstruction pioneered by Norwood toenable single ventricle survival or cardiac transplantation.Compassionate care, although increasingly controversial,remains an option in some centers.
