Abstract

We compare 20Kh13 steel in the intact state and after 3∙105 h of operation in blades of the low-pressure cylinders of steam turbines by the mechanisms of fracture, structural, mechanical, corrosion, and stress corrosion properties. It is shown that, as a result of operation, steel hardens and becomes less plastic, its corrosion characteristics, and the parameters of fatigue and cyclic crack-growth resistance significantly deteriorate.
