Abstract

In reply to the letter to the editor citing the original authors’ incomplete data analysis of abortions they respond by stating that their research focused on primary outcomes: teen births and repeat abortions not abortions overall. Critics of this original study presented population-level outcome measurements - an outcome intentionally not examined in the study. The Contraceptive CHOICE Project through its provision of comprehensive contraceptive education and no-cost contraception resulted in reduced repeat abortions and lower rates of abortions and teen births compared with regional and national estimates.
