Abstract
U.S. Department of Energy—NASA Workshop; Livermore, California, 12–13 October 2010; Observations are essential for the development and evaluation of climate models, and satellite measurements provide uniquely comprehensive data for both purposes. The objective of a recent U.S. Department of Energy—NASA workshop was to better enable a diverse research community to exploit the wealth of NASA products that are relevant for climate model evaluation. The meeting brought together data experts from 20 NASA instrument and data teams with the staff of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI).
