Abstract
The features of forming coatings on the aluminum alloy with plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) method at parallel treatment of workpieces are considered. The nature of surface microdischarges leads to uneven distribution of electrical current through individual workpieces being parallel treated in a group and, as a consequence, a significant dispersion of such coatings characteristics as thickness, through porosity, dielectric strength under AC and DC conditions and microhardness. Wherein, the stability of coatings characteristics increases with PEO treatment duration. The algorithms for automatic correction of the PEO mode which significantly increase the stability of protective coatings characteristics has been developed.
