Abstract

Improving Quality of Service (QoS) for Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) of different mixed traffics using asynchronous transfer mode– available bit rate (ATM-ABR) service was investigated by using a computer simulator, that is for achieving high efficiency and an excellent fairness of the mixed traffics when there is an active number of these traffic sources. The proposed scheme has a similar complexity as the original scheme and though most of the related prior schemes were considered, this scheme gives a better performance, in terms of efficiency, fairness, queue length, number of sources, initial cell rate for different traffics, queue control function at the ABR switch and achievable utilisation for the output link bandwidth.
