Abstract

Program Description: Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) is a well-established technique for treatment of patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis. Applied in properly selected patients, FESS is associated with an 80% to 90% success rate. However, the remainder 10% to 20% of patients often have recurrence of disease and require subsequent surgery. This seminar will use a case-based approach to evaluate and discuss the common problems and difficulties that are seen by the revision surgeon. In the process of dissecting surgical situations that require revision, the panelists will discuss strategies to avoid recurrent disease and maximize the success of primary FESS. The panelists will be able to draw from years of revision FESS experience, as well as multiple publications. All clinical cases will be accompanied by endoscopic pictures and videos, as well as a complete complement of appropriate radiologic images.
