Abstract
The study design and data processing of scientific research in medicine is a complex matter. This also applies to the authors' department. Applications of advanced computer technologies may alleviate the efforts of medical researchers in these processes. The authors describe in detail the database design used by physicians in URIS (see W. d'Hollosy et al., URIS-A Universal Information System, Proc. IEEE-EMBS, vol. 14, p. 858-9, 1992). This system has improved data management in the authors' department.
