Abstract

In this paper, we propose two full rate space-time coding schemes for multiple-in multiple-out (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The first proposal called extended super-orthogonal space-time code is designed based on constellation rotation for two transmit antennas. The second proposal called super-quasi orthogonal space-time trellis code combines quasi-orthogonal space-time block code with trellis code to provide full rate code for four transmit antennas. The designed space-time coded MIMO-OFDM systems achieve high diversity order with high coding gain by exploiting the diversity advantage of frequency selective fading channels.
