Abstract

The paper presents a quasi z-source converter (QZSC) with combination of switched inductor configuration intended to be used in zero energy DC homes. Where, low voltage source has to be boosted to predefined high DC grid voltage. The designed switched inductor quasi z-source converter (SIQZSC) offers high voltage gain at lower duty ratio thus providing higher efficiency, low voltage stress on the capacitors used in the converter and a common ground for input and output, decreasing the common mode noise in the converter. Mathematical modelling of the designed DC-DC converter is done, and comparison studies of proposed SIQZSC with boost converter and traditional QZSC is also presented. The simulation results of the designed converter are obtained for different operating conditions.
