Abstract

Describes the TQM implementation in an aerospace maintenance company in Singapore. Quality improvement teams have been formed to improve the repair and maintenance turntimes of the blade section of aircraft engine turbines. Preliminary results are encouraging. Maintenance turntimes and rework rates of the blade section have reduced markedly. Besides the tangible benefits of realizing project objectives, observes intangible benefits such as improved communication and teamwork. Also highlights the problems encountered in the TQM implementation and the success factors.
