Abstract

Imperialism — the Highest Stage of Capitalism is a brilliant Marxist work published by Lenin on the eve of the October Revolution. In this work, Lenin penetratingly analyzed the nature, characteristics, and basic contradictions of imperialism; explicitly elaborated on the objective law governing the emergence, development, and inevitable destruction of imperialism; and pointed out the historical task of the proletarian revolution. The study of this brilliant work by Lenin once again is of great significance in understanding all the contradictions in our era and the very nature of imperialism and social-imperialism, in gaining a better comprehension of the analysis of the situation and time set forth in the various documents of the Tenth Party Congress, and in criticizing revisionism on a still wider scale.
