Abstract

Abstract International migration has positive impacts on socio-economic development in Bangladesh. Using secondary data, this paper explores the impacts of remittances on socio-economic development in Bangladesh. The article reveals that remittance has significant impacts on Bangladesh economy and socio-economic development, for example, reducing the poverty, increasing the household expenditure, saving, leading to maintain the quality of life as well as gender equality. Therefore, the government should take necessary steps to fostering international migration as a national strategy for economic development of Bangladesh.
