Abstract

Pressure sensitive paint (PSP) measurement technique and numerical calculation were used to study the impact of geometric parameters of double jet film cooling (DJFC) on the resultant vortex structure and cooling effectiveness, and the design principle of DJFC according to different blowing ratios was put forward. The results indicate that the formation of effective anti-kidney vortices is the key to enhance the cooling effectiveness of DJFC holes. While the blowing ratio is low, the streamwise or lateral distance between the two holes of DJFC should be increased to widen the lateral coverage of the coolant; while the blowing ratio is high, the streamwise and lateral distance should be decreased to prevent the two cooling streams from separating apart so that the malfunction of the anti-kidney vortices could be avoided. Small compound angle is negative to enhance the cooling effectiveness.
