Abstract

Sol-gel autocombustion route is employed to fabricate M-type hexa ferrites Ca0.5Ba0.5-x HoxNiyFe12-yO19 (x = 0.00, 0.04, 0.08, 0.10; y = 0.00, 0.40, 0.80, 1.00). All of prepared specimens are inspected through XRD, SEM and dielectric characterization. Spectra of XRD appraise the phase affirmation and size of crystallites and their modification with substituent. Crystallites size lies in the range of 23.78–23.86 nm. Grain size is computed through SEM and its value is ranged from 0.83 μm to 1.11 μm. Resistivity values are raised from 1.97×108 Ω-cm to 2.67×108 Ω-cm with increasing Ho-Ni substitution. Dielectric properties are investigated under the range of 200 KHz to 1 MHz. The parameters of dielectric measurements like AC conductivity, dielectric constant, tangent loss and dielectric losses has inspected on grounds of Koop's theory and Maxwell-Wagner model. Dielectric loss and constant concede decreasing behavior with frequency. Materials with such dielectric behavior are more prudent in microwave and switching applications.
