Abstract
AbstractInformation and digital technologies currently play one of the leading roles in all areas of activity, including entrepreneurship. The use of these technologies significantly facilitates and changes various areas of entrepreneurial activity. In this study, two terms “digitalization” and “digital economy” are used. It should be noted that digitalization refers to the introduction of digital technologies in all areas of activity, which indicates a broader meaning of the term. The article argues that there is a real inevitability of the digital transformation of the economy and its necessity in the fight against the pandemic caused by COVID-19, which is directly related to the problems and prospects for the development of digital entrepreneurship. However, it is worth paying attention to the potential of Russian businesses, especially small- and medium-sized businesses, in this area in order to determine the main directions of its development. The authors consider the main economic measures to support enterprises and organizations in current conditions, which are offered and provided by the Government of the Russian Federation. The article analyses the values of the Business Digitalization Index (BDI) and provides a comparative analysis of private indices. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that the presented results can be used by the managers of companies and departments.KeywordsDigitalizationDigital economyEntrepreneurshipDigital technologiesJEL ClassificationO10
