Abstract

The adhesive construction tapes in fact must have a good adhesion with any surface achieved with slight pressure and a minimum contact time. The wide variety of adhesive tapes reviewed has shown a huge difference in their adhesion properties, which must be evaluated depending on the application of the tape. The aim of the article is to determine the influence of climatic effects on tack properties and thickness of adhesive tapes, to evaluate the tack of adhesive tapes on various building surfaces after the artificial aging. Sixteen single-sided construction commercial sealing tapes for use outside and inside the building were selected for investigation. The conditions of the artificial aging were selected on the basis of a quantified calculation corresponding to the climatological statistics of the middle-latitude continental climate zone and their effect on durability of building exterior. The tack was determined according the Rolling Ball Test. The results have shown that in all cases, the long-term effects of climate and humid aging did not lead to a change in the thickness of the adhesive tapes. It was found that in most cases the effects of climate did not have any impact on the tack of the adhesive tapes. The surface has a significant effect on the tack of the adhesive tapes and different tack results on various surfaces were obtained. The adhesive coating of adhesive tapes has the best tack on plywood, OSB and cement bonded particle boards.
