Abstract
Il-10 is a potent anti-inflammatory cytokine. Its administration has been found to prevent preterm birth in the setting of infection-mediated preterm labor in mice. Production of IL-10 by the placenta has previously been shown to be decreased at the end of pregnancy. Our goal was to evaluate whether IL-10 could be measured in vaginal and cervical secretions and if so, establish Il-10 concentration patterns across gestation.
