Abstract

This book is one result from a larger research programme called “Stable Peace: The Case of Sweden”. The empirical base for the program is the more than 180 years long history of Swedish peace. The overarching aim of the program is to identify key factors helping us to understand the development of continuously peaceful relations. “Stable Peace”, which involves senior researchers and doctoral students from history as well as political science, analyzes possibilities for development of lasting peaceful relations, based on Swedish security and foreign policy experiences.
