Abstract
This narrative inquiry focuses on some elements of the journey of two female, tenure-track assistant professors at a Canadian university. Guided by Schein's (2004) theoretical framework on organizational culture, we explore the practices, beliefs, and assumptions of academic culture that impact our tenure-track journey. Through story sharing and dialogue, four dominant themes emerged: self and soul, empowerment and power differentials, inclusive community, and mentors and gurus "along the way."
