Abstract

Objective: IL-1 is one of the principal cytokines that participate in endocrine and local regulation of many endometrial and reproductive functions. The cellular response to IL-1 implicates principally receptor type I (IL-1RtI) and, according to recent data, an accessory protein (IL-1R-AcP) that seems to play an essential function in signal transduction. The objective of the present study was to examine the expression of IL-1RtI and IL-1R-AcP in the human endometrium throughout the menstrual cycle of fertile women.
