Abstract
In this paper, a self-powered bidirectional low voltage solid-state DC circuit breaker is presented. The circuit breaker is equipped with a high voltage power extraction circuit based on flyback converter. IGBT is used as the main switching device in the main circuit. The adaptive driving circuit and absorbing buffer circuit of IGBT are designed, which can realize the fast turn-off of fault current and effectively suppress the over-voltage spike. Using two IGBT in parallel as the main switch of the circuit breaker, the fault current turn-off test of 100A is carried out. The results show that the output voltage of the self-powered circuit is stable, the circuit breaker can quickly cut off the fault current, and the design scheme is correct and feasible.
