Abstract
ABSTRACT Chinese female entrepreneurs are proportionately the most successful self-made women in the world today while American women struggle to keep up with their Chinese counterparts. This is astonishing considering that Chinese women inherited generations of societal discrimination against women, and US women are the beneficiaries of feminist revolution. Multi-generational families provide Chinese women with built-in support for child rearing and household responsibilities, while in America, policies supporting work/life balance are slow to pass or be implemented. In this paper we explore the historical, economic and societal reasons for this reality and offer transformational leadership as the path to bridging this gap. Keywords Transformational Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Cultural Differences, Female Business Success
