Abstract
Independent living programmes (ILPs) exist in several formats, they aim to prepare young people for independence. The aim of this research is to identify the components within ILSP that are essential to support successful transition to living alone, specifically focusing on Supported Accommodation services. A scoping review was used to review the current literature, using thematic analysis to generate themes. The findings identified four themes, holistic support, interpersonal approach, hard skills, and soft skills. The research concludes that a definition of what ILPs contain is required, as well as more focus of live-in independent living skills provisions.
