Abstract

The signal characteristics of the electron absorption spectra of toluene solutions of commercial and reservoir crude oil, such as the dispersion, mathematical expectation, and the autocovariance and autocorrelations functions, are determined. Oil samples from the South Surgut and South Balyk deposits are used as examples to show that these characteristics differ for oils with different compositions, properties, and degrees of processing. Based on the likely characteristics of these parameters, a method is proposed for identification of these oils.
