Abstract
This paper describes a method to make fast and reliable the identification of coherent machine groups for Electric Power Systems dynamic equivalents construction to be used in planning studies and in on-line dynamic security, may be. The method is based on Lyapunov Direct Method and uses some simplifications on the nodal bus admittance matrix of reduced to generation buses system.
