Abstract

Objective: Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is produced in the ovary and has been shown to modulate ovarian cellular differentiation, steroidogenesis, and oocyte maturation. However, due to low levels of expression, ovarian GnRH has been extremely difficult to study. To elucidate mechanisms that regulate ovarian GnRH expression, our objective was to identify regions of the GnRH gene promoter that mediate ovarian GnRH expression in vivo.
