Abstract
Safety is an essential thing that must be met in the implementation of traffic activities on the highway. Every effort is made to increase traffic safety. The road network around Universitas Tadulako has a high traffic flow so that the number of accidents increases. The accidents are indicated by several black spot locations. This condition requires research that can identify and find the proper black spot treatment. Therefore, the objectives of this research are to identify and discover the proper black spot treatment on the road network around campus. The method used in this research is an interview of road network users around the campus (students, community members, and the authorities) and inspections of locations that can become black spots. Three hundred forty-six respondents were collected and analyzed. The results show that the location of the black spot around the Universitas Tadulako is in front of the gate of the Universitas Tadulako lecturer housing. The proposed treatments at the black spot location are controlling street vendors’ spots, optimizing traffic lights, setting U-turns, cutting several trees, and repairing road pavements.
